Located 30 miles south of downtown Puerto Vallarta (45-60 minute drive) on Highway 200,  past Boca de Tomatlán and the Vallarta Botanical Gardens, driving toward Barra de Navidad  in the Cabo Corrientes Municipality. Known for its Raicilla, the grandfather of  Tequila, and panels cheese, also called queso canasta (basket cheese). El Tuito is  surrounded by beauty and history. El Tuito is the municipal seat of Cabo Corrientes. From  here you can visit several famous beaches as well as some that are ready to be discovered.

El Tuito means “divine place” or “place of beauty” and its origin dates back to the 16th  century.

Driving on the cobbled streets of town you will find colorful houses with tile roofs. In its  center, the main square, gateway of the past, trees, bougainvillea and palm trees. Here  there are several restaurants with dishes made with natural products from the region.

El Patio de Mario located at the center. Seating available outside so you do not miss the  scurrying of the town center. Or, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere inside with beautiful courtyard  seating. Two blocks away is the Church of San Pedro Apóstol and the ruins of what was the  Hacienda San José.
